PinkGrafX Terms Of Use

"Offered" means it is offered for download for use. Not offered are my own personal website graphics and any other graphics specified as Not For Download.

Most pages have some T.O.U. "Terms Of Use" on each page. All Terms on those pages are in effect as well as these. Unless the TOU on the page negate one of these terms.

You may copy offered images for personal, NON-commercial / NON-for sale use.

You may make a personal sig tag with offered graphics.

You may create a personal web set from offered graphics.
This means Link buttons, Welcome banner, Background and the like.
For YOURSELF.
In this case a link back to my site is required.

You may NOT alter or re-color or re-size offered graphics, unless otherwise specified.
Like adding your name for a sig-tag.

You may not hot-link or direct link to individual images.
You may not hot-link or direct-link to un-offered directories.
Only HTML pages are linkable.

You may not download any images for additions to collections or redistribution in any medium.

You may not claim any image as your own.

Images are NOT to be used on sites or messages promoting pronography or hate.

OK.. It seems a whole bunch of people don't know what "Direct Linking" or "Hot Linking" is and why it's bad.
Direct linking is when you copy the address of one of my images and use MY address to display that image on your website.
Everytime someone looks at your site and sees my image it uses my bandwidth.
That's like pluging your font porch light into a socket at my house without asking. Everytime someone opens your door, the light comes on, they use my electricity. The more people visit your house {website} the more times your door {page} is opened, the more electricity {bandwidth} is taken from my house {website}.
That is stealing.
I do have a tracking system that gives me the exact URL of where my images are being viewed. I've been to your forums, messageboards, blogs and even some emails.
I've placed polite messages on my pages asking people not to do this. I've made nice emails. I've replaced the images with a notice. I've even had to spend hours redoing my own website because of MASSIVE linking.
Not just a few images, but almost my whole site!
I guess nice isn't working.
From now on, I'll just contact your site host and explain what you are doing.
One site was shut down by their host.
I don't like that and I don't want to have do it again.
Please respect these terms.

"Fair Use" is only granted to schoolteachers as project use.
NOT for sales of any kinds.

I have been tickled pink with the projects so far! KUDOS to you! 8-)

I honestly don't want to sound stingy or hard nosed with my graphics. I made thses things for people to enjoy making things for themselves. However, after seeing sites using my graphics for sale, and others giving them away as their own shares, plus hundreds and hundreds of people hot linking to the images, I have had no choice but to add all this. I've also had to be specific. Seems too many feel if it's not spelled out, it's ok to do whatever.
I hope everyone understands.
