Filling Text with Glitter
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
This tutorial was done in Paint Shop Pro, version 7.
I know it will work in 8 and 9 but 7 is my personal favorite.
If you know 8 or 9 better, feel free to try it out there.
Things needed:
Paint Shop Pro, Version 7
Jasc Animation Shop
An animated glitter tile image
If you don't have a glitter tile, you may use one of mine.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
If you got here from the Glitter Tile Tutorial
And still have your glitter tile, in layers, open in PSP, skip Step 1.
~ Step 1 ~
Open Animation Shop.
Open the glitter tile you want to use as a fill.
Edit... Select All...
File.. Export Frames... to Paint Shop Pro
~ Step 2 ~
Open PSP.
Click on the glitter tile Layer 1.
Copy and paste as a new image. Ctrl X and CTRL V
Do this for Layer 2, 3 and 4.
Line each one up in order. 1 on top, 2 next, 3 then 4.
*see image below..
~ Step 3 ~
Click on your eyedropper tool.
From one of your glitter tiles, select a good color for the outline of your name text.
*See example below..
Select a different or NULL color for the fill.
~ Step 4 ~
Select your Text tool, and the font of your choice.
Unless you plan to place this directly onto a background, UN-check antalias.
I'm using plain old Courier New, with the B {bold} on. Floating.
~ Step 5 ~
Copy this layer and paste it as a new layer 3 times.
That's CTRL C and CTRL L, CTRL L, CTRL L.
You should now have this...
~ Step 6 ~
Over on your color palette, click on the little black arrow from your stroke swatch.
Choose the pattern fill from the fly out.
~ Step 6b ~
Click on the pattern.
This will open another fly out where you can choose your first glitter tile image that you placed in order on Step 2.
~ Step 8 ~
On your layers palette, click the small eyegalsses icon next to layers 2, 3 and 4.
Make sure layer one is active.
Using the bucket Flood Fill tool, begin filling in your text.
After you fill layer one, click on layer 2. This will unhide it and activate it.
Repeate Step 6b. Only choose the second glitter tile.
Now fill layer 2 with tile 2.
Layer 3. Step 6b. Tile 3. Fill
Layer 4. Step 6b. Tile 4. Fill
~ Step 9 ~ Finish!
Now you should have all letters on all layers filled. Save this layered image as a .psp file.
Open animation Shop. Open your .psp file.
Make sure you have the animation properties set for loop.. repeat animation indefinitly.
And, if you have this on a transparent background, you want that checked as well.
Save as a .gif.
See how small this file is? YAY!!
Enjoy! 8-)
You can use any small glittery image for this.
Here is the red white and blue tile I did for example...
You are welcome to save the red white & blue glitter tile to use.
